His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited to Lingshed on August 15th, 2009 

This is good news to you that H.H. the Dalai Lama visited to Lingshed on August 15, 2009 by Helicopter from Leh city to Lingshed. His Holiness was arrived there at 7 a.m. in the morning at Lingshed Helipad. His Holiness was respectively and honorably received by monks, nuns, school students, staffs and people in traditional dresses.

In a day, the Dalai Lama gave teachings and instruction to people about Refuge, Bodhichita (love-compassion) and white Tara Initiation. He especially talked to people and students regarding studies of modern education as well as spiritual (traditional) education. His Holiness stayed one night in Lingshed monastery (Gonpa) and next morning, His Holiness did prayer with monks and nuns in main prayer hall in Gonpa. On August 16, 2009, His Holiness returned to Leh by Helicopter.

During His Holiness visit, Jadho Rinpoche was also present in Lingshed and he also gave teachings to people for 3 days.

The entire region of Lingshed people were very happy to receive H.H. the Dalai Lama’s teachings, blessings and instructions. It was great opportunity and lucky for people to receive His Holiness for spending over night in Lingshed. Especially, old aged people, handicapped, blinds and children were lucky to receive his teachings.

It is the historic event for Lingshed area people. For a long time, all people have put their collective efforts and hard works for preparation of His Holiness’s visit was successful on August 15, 2009. The dream of people was turned into right-path.

Now it is an important responsible for people to carry on and follow His Holiness’s kind instructions and advice in order to develop and promote modern education as well spiritual (traditional) education and preserve the traditional culture and values.
