Lama Tsewang Jorgyas

Lama Tsewang Jorgyas is from Lingshed Area villages. His father's name is Punchok Norbu. He was born in a small village called Gongma. This village is a part of Lingshed Area villages. He is 39 years old and belongs to a poor family. He spent his life almost up to 10 years old with his parents for helping them. 

After that he became a monk in Lingshed Gonpa, which is situated at a 10 kilometers' distance from his village. Lama Jorgyas received the education of Buddhism, ritual prayers and monastic rules and regulations in the monastery (Gonpa). He spends his life among the monks. He works and takes responsibilities for the monastic development activities for the welfare of the monks. Since 1993 he has been voluntarily working in different projects of the Nunnery for nuns (women), Local Amchis for health, school education for children and other development activities for the community of Lingshed area villages. He is still working with the projects to benefit the people.
